Home Automation – The Smart Home

What is Home Automation?
How many remote controls do I own?
Did I leave the kitchen lights on?
Did I forget to turn the thermostat up when I left for work?
I’m on vacation in California, can I check on my home in Texas?

Home Automation can most completely be described as a user-friendly network that encompasses every day functions such as audio/video commands, lighting control, HVAC/climate control and security.

CNC installs automation systems to help create ease of use for homeowners. Remote controls are WiFi and RF based, meaning a person can operate each controller without having to point it directly at the unit.

Home Automation products allow you to manage your TV, DVD, cable, lighting, music, HVAC and security with the use of one central command unit. Depending on your preference, we can program your house to be controlled via remote control, LCD keypads, wall mounted mini color touch screens, wireless touch screens, or any combination thereof.

With the installation of a Home Automation system, homeowner anxiety is eased knowing the need for multiple remotes is eliminated. In addition, bulky wall plates can be minimized for comfort, convenience and décor.

Lighting Control and Automation

Coming home to dark house or stumbling through unlit halls to reach a light switch can prove to be an eerie and awkward task for even the most brave, sure-footed person. CNC’s lighting solutions provide elegant, energy saving additions to any home. Our wired and wireless options give families complete control over the ambience of the entire house. Programming options can eliminate wrapping your toe around a door jam or bumping into a wall with the use of motion sensors that allow a room to illuminate slowly without ever flipping on a light switch.

HVAC Control and Automation

CNC also installs HVAC automation systems which can help you regulate your homes climate through remote control, touch pad or even online management. Internet access can allow you to log in to your system remotely to increase or decrease the internal temperature of your house to ensure that you are comfortable upon arrival. This option is especially useful in sudden climate changes or when winter weather events occur.

Security/Safety Control and Automation:

The automation units installed by CNC are internet based, which allow you to integrate your security system and access your homes’ security online. Please note that not all security systems are compatible, so consulting with your CNC designer is a must when considering this option.

CNC also has the ability to integrate IP cameras that can be distributed throughout the interior and exterior of the home. Owners can monitor visitors at their door, activity within the home, or even observe the perimeter of the estate on their TV or from any internet location. In addition, CNC can even program your system to alert you via e-mail when your children get home from school or if perimeter door is left open.

Green Friendly Solutions:

With energy costs increasing exponentially over the past couple of years and the conservation of energy being a hot topic of discussion, home automation can help enhance a homes’ energy efficiency.

How? With CNC’s programming capabilities, automating a home’s lighting system power to 85% strength lowers carbon emission levels equal to removing a car from the road up to 1,000 miles per year.
